Celebrate your best friend while helping other pets find their forever parents!

Come paint a special food bowl, treat jar, picture frame or other novel item in honor of your special animal companion.  $15 will cover appetizers, desserts, drinks, favor bag, a two hour block of painting time and a contribution to the Western PA Humane Society.  Ceramic pieces to paint will be offered in a wide range of prices to accommodate everyone's budget. Individuals, couples and families are welcome!  Feel free to bring your hopefully well-behaved animal companion with you to join in the fun.

Call 412-421-9209 today to reserve your spot!  Spaces are limited.

Karen Litzinger will also be doing a CD signing at the event for people who want the award-winning Heal Your Heart: Coping with the Loss of a Pet as a caring gift for a pet-lover friend with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Western PA Humane Society.  Painting a piece in memory of your special companion is another way to honor the memory.

Expert Advice for Your Ailing or Aging Pet: The Final Paw of the Journey

Free of Charge - Donations Benefit the Humane Society of Western Pennsylvania
Many of us consider our special animals as family members or best friends.  When they age or their health declines, we want to do all we can to take care of them.  And it’s important to take care of ourselves too by being educated about illness and loss.

This panel presentation will feature a veterinary expert who will discuss keeping senior pets healthy and caring for ailing pets.  A pet loss counselor will share insights about the difficult decision of euthanasia that we sometimes face as well as how to cope following pet loss.  A pet funeral services professional will share options for arrangements that can be helpful to think about in advance while not under the immediate emotional stress of pet loss.

Attendees are invited to bring pet food, towels, cat litter or monetary contributions for the Humane Society of Western Pennsylvania. Held in conjunction with National Pet Week sponsored by the American Veterinary Medical Association.
